Kooth
What is Kooth used for?
Kooth offers emotional and mental health support for children and young people aged between 11 and 24 years of age.
Young people using Kooth, have access to qualified online counsellors seven days a week who will provide counselling, through a chat-based messaging service or via drop-in or pre-booked sessions.

School Nurses are qualified registered nurses or midwives with specialist training and experience in public health for children, young people and families.
They offer a range of services
- Promoting healthy lifestyles
- Provide health assessments
- Health screening, such hearing tests and as the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) completed in Reception and Year 6
- Supporting pupils with long term health conditions or disabilities such as asthma, diabetes or epilepsy
- Primary school, secondary school and community drop-in’s
- Working with schools, children and young people to address smoking, alcohol or drugs.
- Support to parents and carers providing advice on specific issues such as bedwetting or healthy eating
- Protection of vulnerable children to improve their health outcomes
- Signposting and access to other service

PODS is a parent carer/peer led charity with staff and volunteers who have the relevant ‘real life’ experience to support families who have a child with a disability or additional need (aged 0 – 25 years). Parent participation is at the heart of the forum, as parent carers can pinpoint problems frequently experienced by families with disabled children.

Mental Health Service Directory
This Mental Health Service Directory has brought together services in Telford & Wrekin that are available to support children and young people aged 0-25 with their mental health and wellbeing.
The provisions vary from drop in support services that can be accessed directly by families, community support via charities and organisations through to training courses that are available for professionals working in schools. Some services listed are highly specialised.
The directory is broken down into two sections. The first section details services that can be accessed directly by families, young people and schools. The second section provides information about provision available to schools only.
When your sibling is different then that experience can be very different from those around you. It can be a scary and lonely place to be and the prospect of being a lifelong carer, is not something most adults would not find easy.
Therefore we have made it a priority to ensure that siblings have access to support and to a peer group that understands. With the opportunity to share with others the high and lows, the skills and strategies they may need to equip to be successful and understand that their special sibling make them special too but most of all to ensure they can relax and have fun. Social Sibs meet once a month in all three locations that we work in. Any sibling aged 7 years + can access any session, at any time.

Is a 4-week interactive online programme that is ran live by the Family Hubs team, that you can access in the comfort of your own home. We offer mornings, afternoons and evenings.

Week Two: Building Secure Attachment, Fostering Positive Relationships and Emotional Regulation

Children's Autism Hub
Children's Autism Hub
Our Children’s Autism Hub is available to children and young people aged 0-18, and their families, who have a formal diagnosis of Autism.
For individuals that have other needs, for example, a learning disability, the Autism Hub will provide support in respect of their Autism. Our hub is based at Hazledine House in Telford Town Centre.
- Giving helpful, relevant advice, information and signposting
- Providing workshops where young people and families can receive support in a group setting
- Supporting parents to plan and implement strategies within the ASD care plan
- Facilitating group support for children and young people and their parents/carers
Adults Autism Hub
Telford Adult’s Autism Hubs main aim is to enable individuals to better understand their autistic identity. This can be an individual seeking an assessment or general support. It can also be other agencies and businesses wanting to be better placed to meet the needs of Telford’s neurodiversity community. We work with adults registered with a GP in Telford and Wrekin. Our Hub is based at Hazledine House in Telford Town Centre.
Telford Adult’s Autism Hub provides:
- A first point of contact for an adult autism assessments (18+);
- Social opportunities for people identifying as autistic;
- Information and training;
- 1 to 1 advice and guidance;
- Autism champion training;
