At Wrockwardine Wood CE Junior School, Religious Education is at the heart of our school life. As a Church of England Junior School, we believe that every child is a unique creation of God, valued and loved. Through RE, we encourage our children to grow spiritually, morally, and culturally, exploring big questions of faith, belief, and meaning.

Our teaching is rooted in the words of Jesus:
“I have come to give life and life in all its fulness” (John 10:10)

This promise inspires us to nurture our children’s understanding of Christianity, while also helping them learn about and respect the diverse faiths and worldviews found in our local community and beyond.

Our Christian Values

Our school values form the foundation of all we do in Religious Education and across the curriculum:

  • Compassion – learning to care deeply for others, showing kindness and understanding in action and words.

  • Friendship – building strong, supportive relationships, rooted in respect and love.

  • Joy – celebrating the beauty of creation, faith, and community with thankful hearts.

  • Thankfulness – recognising life’s blessings and responding with gratitude.

  • Wisdom – seeking understanding, asking questions, and making thoughtful choices.

  • Courage – standing up for what is right, guided by faith and hope.

These values underpin our commitment to developing children who are not only knowledgeable about religion but also equipped to live well with others, reflecting God’s love in their everyday lives.

Our Approach to RE

Through engaging lessons, creative activities, and whole-school worship, our pupils:

  • Learn about the Christian faith and its place at the centre of our school life.

  • Explore Bible stories and Christian traditions, understanding their relevance today.

  • Gain knowledge of other major world religions and worldviews, fostering respect and tolerance.

  • Reflect on their own beliefs, values, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

Religious Education at Wrockwardine Wood CE Junior School is not just about learning facts – it is about exploring meaning, developing character, and living out our values in daily life. We encourage our children to ask deep questions, reflect thoughtfully, and grow in faith and understanding.

By working together, guided by Jesus’s promise, we aim to ensure that every child is prepared to flourish, contribute positively to society, and embrace the fullness of life.
