Mr Russell Evans
Staff Governor
I’m Russell and I have been part of the school’s governing body since 2011, originally joining as a Parent Governor. I live locally in Trench, and I genuinely feel privileged that all four of my children had the opportunity to attend this wonderful school. Having seen first-hand the care, support and high-quality education they received, I am committed to giving back to the school community that has done so much for my children.
As both a governor and a parent, my aim is to help ensure the very best school experience for all our current and future pupils. I am especially proud of the strong values and positive ethos that exist in our school. Our children’s academic progress and social development are at the heart of everything we do, and the dedication of our head teacher and staff in promoting these values is truly inspiring. Being a governor is a role I find both rewarding and fascinating, and I value the way our governing body works together to monitor, support and challenge the school in achieving its goals. As a member of staff, I feel fortunate to be in a unique position that allows me to understand and appreciate the perspectives of both parents and colleagues.
Alongside my role as Staff Governor, I serve as Link Governor for History (reflecting my enthusiasm for genealogy and local history) and for Computing (I have always been interested in computing and have a strong background in IT from previous roles, so I enjoy supporting the school’s work in developing digital skills and making effective use of technology). I also act as Link Governor for Health and Safety, a responsibility that aligns closely with my day-to-day role as the school caretaker and site manager.
I am pleased to support our children and school community in these ways and I’m confident our school will continue to thrive.
Appointed as staff governor on 31/08/2023 for 4 years until 31/08/2027
