Head’s Welcome

Wrockwardine Wood Church of England Junior SchoolOn behalf of the Governors, the staff, the pupils and myself it gives me great pleasure, as Head Teacher, to welcome you to the Wrockwardine Wood Church of England Junior School website.

I am immensely proud to be able to say that I am the Head of this wonderful school. It is an incredibly special place filled with “Love, Laughter and Learning” and it lifts my heart each time I walk through the doors. To get a flavour of what our school is really about, you need to visit but this is just a taster of what you will experience when you do…

We are proud to be a church school and feel that our children and staff reflect the Christian values we promote here. We believe that our children have a strong moral compass and we support children to not only learn, but also to develop into good people who demonstrate these values throughout their life.  We strive to make sure that our children develop socially, in terms of self esteem and in confidence too and we passionately believe that their years with us should involve making as many long-lasting, wonderful memories as possible. We encourage them to have a go at things that their parents may never have thought they would see their child doing by offering a wide range of curriculum enrichment activities which enhance children’s learning and an array of clubs, trips and educational experiences. Their physical and mental health is very important to us too and is an essential part of us caring for your children in the right way. By drawing together all these areas, we hope that the children will become healthy, happy and  life long learners with a true sense of pride in themselves and their achievements.
We love having visitors in school and when we do, the children act as their guides. Such visits always culminate in compliments for the children on their manners, sense of pride in the school and their confidence as well as them mentioning the calm but fun atmosphere we have here. In fact our School Mission Statement was decided by the pupils themselves who see our school as a place where ‘love, laughter and learning’ are prevalent. The school vision is to build a strong partnership with our parents – as a staff, we hope that you will become friends as we move through school together supporting your child in their development – and also with the wider community as we all work together for the benefit of all our children. They will be not only be supported as individuals to reach their full potential in everything that they do, but also, because of our teaching of Christian Values, both explicit and implicit, we will continue to treat each other with respect and tolerance whilst celebrating the unique achievements of everyone and ensuring equity. We hope is that we will become one whole family where we all feel nurtured, trusted and happy here at Wrockwardine wood Church of England Junior school.

But really the best way to sample our school ethos is to come and visit the school and sample the feeling here. You will love it!

I have been at the school since January 2007 and I love it here. I was appointed Head Teacher in 2014 after nearly 8 years as Deputy and I can honestly say that I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else! The children are a big part of that and I am very proud of them. When you meet them, you’ll soon see why!

We look forward to welcoming you into our family very soon.

With Best Wishes,

Mrs Julie Henry
